Our Doctors

Dr. Alicia Haupt

Dr. Alicia Haupt is a New York Chiropractic College graduate, practicing since 1985. She practiced on Long Island in N.Y., until 1999, when she moved her family to the growing community of Gainesville, VA, where she opened Gateway Chiropractic.

Dr. Haupt and her husband Bill, are active members of the local Holy Trinity Church community and supporters of the athletes, team trainers and band members at Brentsville, Battlefield, Patriot and Kettle Run high schools in addition to turf and field conditions at both Bull Run and Gainesville Middle Schools.

Dr. Haupt has had a strong chiropractic upbringing, as she has been under the care of a chiropractor since 1970. Her children have also had regular wellness or injury care since they were babies, and as a result, they have required minimal medical intervention in their childhood years.

Dr. Haupt continues to enjoy expanding her education.  As of February 2016, she is certified in A.R.T. (active release technique). This creates options to work more effectively with difficult conditions such as rotator cuff injuries/shoulders, carpal tunnel, knee injuries, plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, as well as helping with headaches, spinal pain and pinched nerves

Dr. Haupt’s son, Connor, graduated from West Virginia University in 2015. He is teaching music at Bull Run Middle School in Prince William County. Her daughter, Brittany (Virginia Tech Class of 2011), has now graduated from the Palmer Chiropractic College and is a practicing chiropractor in Bay City, Michigan.  In her free time, Dr. Haupt enjoys country line dancing, snow skiing, water skiing, Pilotes, hiking and training her rescue hounds, Rupert and Stetson.

Dr. Carrie L. Dancesia

Dr. Carrie Dancesia was born and raised in Binghamton, New York.  She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and a minor in chemistry from the State University of New York at Oneonta.  While attending Oneonta, Carrie was an EMT on the Oneonta State Emergency Squad as well as a member of the National Biology Honors Society (Beta Beta Beta).  Shortly after graduating from Oneonta, Carrie attended New York Chiropractic College, graduating as a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic in November 2012. Dr. Dancesia has joined of Gateway Chiropractic in order to service the chiropractic needs of the residence in the Gainesville and nearby community.  

Outside of the office, Dr. Dancesia enjoys many activities including crafting, baking, and spending time with her husband (John) and children (Leah & Bobby).  In addition, since Dr. Carrie is an 18-year dance veteran, she is no stranger to sports injuries. She is passionate about the treatment of sports injuries and she enjoys implementing nutrition into her chiropractic treatment recommendations.

Dr. Carrie is certified in Webster Technique. The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic technique that has been perfected to allow your nervous system to be more balanced as well as the bones and ligaments of the pelvis. This technique can most specifically help an expectant mother and help optimize her body for a healthy pregnancy and delivery

Her care approach is multi-dimensional, using chiropractic, physiotherapy, muscle techniques and nutrition, which allows her to create specific care plans for every patient.  Carrie’s mission is to heal, serve and bring her enthusiasm for healing into the community.

Dr. Tom Dickerson, DC

Dr. Tom Dickerson, DC is a Chiropractor at Gateway Chiropractic, he is passionate about helping others reach their
health goals through chiropractic and physical medicine.

Dr. Dickerson received a Bachelors of Science degree in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech, he then went on to earn
a Doctorate of Chiropractic (DC) degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.  During his time
at Palmer, Dr. Dickerson focused his training on Physical Medicine, participating in extracurricular education and
seminars.

In 2007, Dr. Dickerson settled in Christiansburg VA, where he developed a passion for using physical medicine in
conjunction with chiropractic to get optimal results for his patients.  In 2010, Dr Dickerson merged his practice with
a large, multi-clinic group, allowing him to collaborate care with other healthcare providers to provide the most
comprehensive and beneficial care for his patients.  

While working in Christiansburg, he concurrently established a separate chiropractic office within a personal
training center, which focused on sports medicine and sport performance.  This facility treated a range of athletes
from beginners in group fitness classes to professional athletes.  He also served as the team chiropractor for the
Christiansburg High School boys basketball team and as well as the boys Wrestling Team.

In the last few years, Dr. Dickerson had the opportunity to practice in Front Royal, VA, with a focus on sports injury
and rehabilitation. While practicing there he had the opportunity to work with many local sports teams such as
Warren County High School, Front Royal Cardinals, and Christendom College. This allowed him to hone his soft
tissue techniques, as well as gain valuable knowledge of physical medicine and rehabilitation.

During his spare time, Dr. Dickerson enjoys the outdoors with his wonderful wife and three children.  He enjoys
coaching his children’s youth soccer and basketball teams.  He is an avid basketball player and plays in several local
men’s leagues. He has a passion for helping patients reach their health goals utilizing chiropractic care and its
ability to help restore function, soft tissue techniques and physical medicine

Dr. Jack Reiter, B.S., D.C.

Dr. Reiter developed an interest in optimizing human health, which led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree from Virginia Tech with a focus in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise and a minor in Music.  He also obtained his Personal Training certification through ACSM, taught striking classes for the VT Mixed Martial Arts club, and served as President of the Biological Sciences Honors Society for a full term.  Later in his studies, he worked as a TA for a few Biology courses.  This experience ignited a spark within him to continue teaching in the future.

Dr. Reiter completed his undergraduate studies and later pursued a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida Campus. Dr. Reiter was active participating in various extracurricular activities during his time there. Most notably,  the President of the Chiropractic Neurology Club and also worked as a tutor to assist fellow students in understanding the material. As a tutor, he covered several subjects, including Immunology, Endocrinology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, and Radiology Diagnostics, which are crucial for the four board exams administered by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners.

Furthermore, he gained a year of clinical experience in treating patients through the Palmer Florida Clinic program that served the local community and the Palmer Florida Outreach programs that served sports events, women’s shelters, and halfway institutes.  During his time in the program, he became proficient in various techniques, including Full Spine Diversified (Palmer Package), Activator I & II, Extremity Adjusting, Flexion-Distraction, Thompson Drop Technique, IASTM, Sports Chiropractic, and Comprehensive Spinal Rehabilitation. This diverse learning experience has allowed Dr. Reiter to be successful in his treatments by providing him with the tools necessary to treat a wide range of conditions.

Outside the office, Dr. Reiter is an active person who enjoys various hobbies.  He likes to exercise, practice martial arts, make music, take walks with his 7-year-old Jack Russell named Dylan, and explore new areas in Northern Virginia.  As a chiropractor, he is a proud member of the Unified Virginia Chiropractic Association and believes in continuous learning. Currently, he is studying to obtain his CSCS and CSPS certifications through the NSCA.

Dr. Reiter is a native of Haymarket, Virginia. He attended Battlefield High School where he sang in the choir and practiced several martial arts in the area which included Tae-Kwon-Do, Shotokan Karate, Chi Lin Kung Fu, and Kickboxing.

Lacey Stumpf

Lacey recently joined our staff when she was a senior at Kettle Run High School. Lacey enjoys working out and volunteering at New Baltimore Fire Station. She is considering a career as an EMT and firefighter.

 

Ashlynn Dieck

Ashlynn has prior chiropractic office experience. She enjoys working out and walking her dog. She is interested in pursuing a career in physical therapy.
